I'd like to see Sweetnorthernsaint get a shot at the BC Classic.

As for the Calder race, Kelly's Landing ran a giant race in the Aristiades. Will be no surprise if he turns the tables on LITF.

This is a great thread.

Tim completely butchering an Eminem lyric, Steve showing some rare emotion, and Dixie giving us the winner! Unbelievable. I'm tempted to stick it.

I tend to agree. Second off teh Dubai trip and had a tough one last time out at Pimlico, steadied twice according to the chart, and will do his running off the pace. Me thinks hes sitting on a big one!

I think it will be VERY Interesting to see what Lost in the Fog goes off at in this spot. I have never had real stong opinions on this horse either way (I don't think he is as good as some say he is, but I also don't think he is as overrated as other people claim). Something tells me that he might actually end up being the smart play in this race.
I think a LOT of people will be trying to beat him here because of the large field and the weight difference and you might end up getting fairly respectable odds for a horse with his record. Hard to say for sure, but depending on the post-time odds it might make sense to key him in exotics and single him in any multi-race bets.

Also....Steve is absolutely right. Winning the Illinois Derby and running 2nd in the Preakness is not all that shabby.

My guess is Fog goes off at around 7/5, that is if the field stays in tact.
Dont underestimate Pletcher's horse Friendly Island. That horse can flat out sizzle and I have seen him do some wonderful things.

Well if there are no scratches and he does go off at 7/5, I would not play him. I think enough people MIGHT try to beat him that he might go off at around 2/1 or maybe even 5/2. At those odds I would play him, but not at 7/5.

If handicapping in advance you may want to consider capping a wet track. It's rained here nearly every day (for a large % of the day) for the past 2 weeks (and don't believe relief is in site for the next 48 hours. It does dry out fast here and thus might not take much to make it a fast track if we get luck on Saturday. At a minimum the turf sprints will be yielding at best if not off the turf (which may make for the value in multi race bets).
