![]() Swept Overboard ran a 122?
Damn....that was my last winner I bet in the race. 11-1. I think that was Jorge Chavez's last win in a big race. |

I bet him at 11/1 that day as well. He was unarguably best when 4th, beaten just one length, in the '01 Breeders Cup Sprint at Belmont. Basically, the three speeds (Squirtle Squirt, Xtra Heat, and Caller One) raced in the top three positions throughout the race....while Swept Overboard closed from 2nd to last, and up the deeper rail path. Both times Swept Overboard ran a 122 Beyer in his career---he exited a six furlong loss at Bay Meadows in his previous start. |

I used to really like the guy. Was a helluva jockey before he got hurt. Ever since then he lost his aggressiveness. Like you said he has kinda gone down the tubes. Solis seems to be going through the same thing. |

I also bet Squirtle in the BC Sprint, and take exception to you saying he wasn't best that day. |

It was three Pletcher horses who ran within a span of about a week at Saratoga in 2002. Warners died right after his big figure allowance win, Freedom's Daughter died right after her spectacularly game Schuylerville win, and Left Bank got sick after his 119 Beyer Whitney win over Street Cry....and died later that year. |
