Stud: you're dealing with some angry people here! Yes..Clemens is arrogant(as my post a week ago mentioned)but he helps many pitchers and is a complete gamer! Probably 18 starts...heads into playoffs as a wiild card with a 15-3 record! If I could do what Roger does, you probably couldn't get my head thru a doorway! And if the S.I. shot is any indication...we now know why Roger flew home between starts during his last tenure with the Bombers

I've been a Yankee fan for almost thirty years...it was a disgrace how they annonuced Clemens yesterday. They have "spit" in the face of Yankee tradition! First it was the Bernie thing and then the problems with Marino...now this. Bad Karma for this team...it WILL blow up in their face & won't make the playoffs this year! "Goes around, comes around". Bernie is gone...Mariano will be at the end of the year and Mr. Clemens will be back in Texas...counting his money!!!

HHH: I don't know how they spit in the face of tradition? I thought it was kinda cool for the fans at the game to hear the news that way. Bernie was toast anyway...and Rivera will be a Yankee in 2008,imo

If Clemens posts a 2.30 ERA as he did last year...and with the bats in that lineup, why not? Please remember he had 6-7 losses where the Astros scored 1 run!

If he wins 10 games that will be a huge year. He cant carry the games into the 8th and 9th any more so he will lose some decisions there. He is a great player that probably has some more left but this is not some kind of deal that will put the Yankees over the top. They still need to get and stay healthy and Torre has been burning the mediocre bullpen up. Mussina and Pettite are question marks to stay healthy and Hughes is a rookie that is already hurt. The japanese guy has looked shaky, Proctor's arm is in danger of falling off, Mariano is slipping, Farnsworth is shaky, Burney is getting used an awful lot. I just see a lot of holes in the staff even with Clemens 30 or so innings a month

I guess I'm just trying to be optimistic. I'm glad they dumped their trainer...some of his theories contributed to Yanks conditioning problems. If they use June and July to get healthy....it could get interesting!

9-7 4.32 ERA...He'll pile up wins simply due to the Yankee offense. His last year in the AL before he headed to the glorified AAA league was an ERA of 3.94 I believe??? That's still quite good in the AL and he will win games but he'll be no better than Unit was in pinstripes. The picture earlier in the thread was priceless...Clemens is simply a man whore at this point!! I give him credit...man whores are worth 28 million dollars today...so he played it 100 percent correctly! The Yankees will have to pass Boston to get in the playoffs anyway...wildcard is coming from Central once again.

Yankees...priceless!!! as 28 million for a half year player would indicate there is no price whatsoever...priceless!!!

"Hey Roger! Nice game today. I'll see you in 5 or 6 days."

Nice team player. Yep he's going to help others when he's not there.
