I hope so.

I honestly tried my best. I spent like eight hours each week ( or should I say " wasted " eight hours each week ) handicapping those cards.

It's probably going to take a +$100 or more finish. The 2 prelim winners were +$91 and +$158.80. There will be fewer entries this week, but I'm thinking it will still take more than +$100.

Dunbar - thanks. It's going to be tough for sure.

If Hollywood is playing like it did yesterday look for some
longshots there - it looks like we need a few to get
those numbers.

There are 236 people in the Finals. At -$4, I am currently 43rd (probably in a big tie.)

The leader has +$29 before the first mandatory race. 25th place is +3.60.

The "43rd" doesn't tell you much. I just realized that they do not figure in how many people are tied. Right now there are 5 people tied for "24th", but someone else is 25th. The "25th" person is actually 49th!

Also, there are 320 people in the Finals, not 236. The "236" must have been how many people had picked a race before the 1st mandatory race.

Just hit a nice one at Tampa to get in top 15 for now.

But still way behind because it looks like 5 or 6 people had
the $73 horse in the Hawthorne 5th - damn, Bombs Away!!!!

Andy, off subject but how did a player of your stature do @ the Kee. meet? I know you warned everyone before the meet started to tread lightly on the poly. but, I didn't listen. Thank god it is over! What makes it worse is I was watching Hollywood last night and the cushion track was fair.
The funniest thing about Kee. was closing day when Jill Byrne was interviewing Nick Nicholson and he kept gushing about how the polytrack was the "star" of the meet.

My entire handle for the meet was under $2000 and I lost a few dollars but essentially gave up halfway through. To me it is unhandicappable and I will never play it again. The results are completely random. The worst twist Keeneland has added is taking races off the turf because fields stay intact. They have almost never come off the turf in the past, and I have seen consecutive days of rain, but now they do it at the drop of a hat. To me this is a complete disregard to handicappers as regardless of what anyone says...polytrack is NOT turf. Sure, some turf horses like it, but some don't.

As for comments by Keeneland management....well it's their surface, it's their track, and the rest of us are on the outside. I applaud Keeneland for being very innovative over time but this racing surface is a disgrace.

I'm sure you were unhappy with your results, but at least you beat the track take. You lost $7.40 on $96 worth of bets. That's -7.7%. Where's that 8% rebate when you need it!

So even on an off day, you cut the track take in half.
