"Beat The Pro" tracks today, btWind?

BTWind, do you (or anyone) know which tracks will be part of the "Finals", today? I don't see anything up at YouBet about it yet.

I was wondering the same thing. I can't find anything on the site about it.

Pointgiven is selecting the tracks after the initial scratches

It should be in the rules. I feel like I remember reading that five qualified every week but I could be way off. I will call later and find out.

Congrats and good luck. The winner gets like $25K....right?

Thunder Rumble 04-28-2007 10:20 AM

10k and a trip to Horsepalyer WS.

The qualifying conditions for finals were whoever had higher earnings than
you in a qualifying week. I only followed the first week but seemed like
quite a few qualified because you struggled a bit.

ArlJim78 04-28-2007 10:23 AM

I got an email that I had qualified for the finals.
What puzzles me is that i can see no mention of the finals on the site.
Where does it list the tracks, rules, etc?

maybe i'm just overlooking something obvious.

Thunder Rumble 04-28-2007 10:24 AM

BTW - thanks for checking and the good luck.

Just going to take stab with these 3 tracks, not ones
I usually follow closely.

Thunder Rumble 04-28-2007 10:26 AM

Pick a track to go to like you are going to wager.

In other words log on and all the way to the odds board,
then there is an add on the right to click on.

got it, thanks,

If it was " just " the people that beat me it's a lot as I was bad to mediocre both weeks. It Include Us had won the photo at Keeneland last week I would have done MUCH better.

pweizer 04-28-2007 10:37 AM

I think your performance made YouBet very happy. Lots of people (including me) in the finals means lots of real money bets for their handle.

5 people each week collected prize money. But hundreds probably qualified for the Finals. You, ummm, made it kind of easy for us! ;>)

ThunderRumble, thanks for the instructions!

I hope so.

I honestly tried my best. I spent like eight hours each week ( or should I say " wasted " eight hours each week ) handicapping those cards.

Thunder Rumble 04-28-2007 10:57 AM

No problem with the instructions.

Good luck - someone here get hot and win this 10k!

Andy, off subject but how did a player of your stature do @ the Kee. meet? I know you warned everyone before the meet started to tread lightly on the poly. but, I didn't listen. Thank god it is over! What makes it worse is I was watching Hollywood last night and the cushion track was fair.
The funniest thing about Kee. was closing day when Jill Byrne was interviewing Nick Nicholson and he kept gushing about how the polytrack was the "star" of the meet.

blackthroatedwind 04-28-2007 11:27 AM

My entire handle for the meet was under $2000 and I lost a few dollars but essentially gave up halfway through. To me it is unhandicappable and I will never play it again. The results are completely random. The worst twist Keeneland has added is taking races off the turf because fields stay intact. They have almost never come off the turf in the past, and I have seen consecutive days of rain, but now they do it at the drop of a hat. To me this is a complete disregard to handicappers as regardless of what anyone says...polytrack is NOT turf. Sure, some turf horses like it, but some don't.

As for comments by Keeneland management....well it's their surface, it's their track, and the rest of us are on the outside. I applaud Keeneland for being very innovative over time but this racing surface is a disgrace.
