Songbird had 4 grade 1 wins by April 9th and 5 more after that. It should have been 7 more, if Mikey took her out see Forever Unbridled and the placing judges got the Breeders cup right. |

Songbird was a heck of a 2-year-old filly. I bet Forever Unbridled (redboard alert). Dan did you know there is a race of man that lives in the trees?

If this was the '80s Lukas would have considered an Alabama-Travers double. Or at least the PA Derby.

They didn't rule out the Alabama.

I source my info from Google so it must be right:
The owner of Briland Farm in Lexington, Ky., outlined what would be a relatively light schedule after the middle jewel of the Triple Crown. It would resume with the July 23 Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) at Saratoga, skip the Aug. 20 Alabama (G1) because of concerns about the mile-and-a-quarter distance and use the Sept. 24 Cotillion at Parx in Bensalem, Pa., as a prelude to the Breeders’ Cup Distaff on Nov. 5 at Keeneland. I only throw it out there because he apparently said it at some point. There's obviously plenty of time for him to backpedal or for Lukas to convince him otherwise. |

I wonder who was the first person to suggest Untapable might be a generational talent
