That is why at the yearling sales and also 2YO sales most of the horses aren't named. People want to name the horse they've spent money for. Any consignor will tell you that, they told me if I was selling it to not name it.
With claimers it's a different story, names are almost never changed. People who don't care will bid, those who do won't.
