For some odd reason I have a vivid memory of Steve Lowery "cold-necking" a 2 iron OB right in the final round of the '95 Open Championship. And that's hard to do on this course.

Interested in GPK's read on this mornings proceedings. If you haven't heard they started play and Koepka was on 11th green. To make a long story short he was unable to play a shot due to the ball moving. Meanwhile play continued behind him and it came to a point where 4 groups stacked up on the hole before play was finally suspended. Dustin Johnson played 8 shots during this period and if memory serves me I think he lost 1 to par.
http://www.sbnation.com/golf/2015/7/...rews-wind-2015 1. Why did they even start play. They know full well which hole would have the biggest problem. Why would they not test that the ball would not roll uncontrollably when placed on the green. 2. Why did they let play continue behind him when they recognized he was struggling to be able to play a shot. Why did they not suspend play after a few minutes until it was proven a shot could be played on the hole. Last edited by jms62 : 07-18-2015 at 06:21 PM. |
