It's too bad he's such a horrible finisher.

speaking of which, he went each quarter

24.06

24.77

24.58

24.58

24.34

24.32

So, in other words, he only slowed down in one quarter mile, going the first to the second.

Can't wait to hear the cries that he went super slow early.

Fastest last quarter in the race in forty years.

It was incredible to be there. Watched from the 4th floor North Shore Terrace. Everyone filed out to the seats to watch. No one was sitting. Every aisle was full.

He looked fab in the post parade and the people let him know it. Everytime LC said "American Pharaoh" during the race call, the crowd noise would amp up higher. It looked like he started pulling away on the far turn and the fans started going ballistic. Wall of noise for 3 straight minutes afterwards. People high fiving. Hugging strangers.

Met one guy who started with a $250 win bet on AP in the Derby and let the winnings ride throughout the TC. Walked away with some good coin.

I was there mainly with foreign visitors and they were treated to a great day of racing. Bill Clinton stopped by the terrace at one point. Made them feel like VIPs.

Didn't cash my $2 win ticket. I'll keep it as a memory.

Cheers,
O

I am so angry at myself for turning down the chance to buy tickets in March.
That being said I am so happy to see a Triple Crown winner and cash a winning exacta and triple wager too. I was jumping up and down and screaming TRIPLE CROWN from the 3/16th pole to the finish. I am thrilled I was able to watch this with my son. This was an awesome afternon

I'm more inclined to believe it has a whole lot more to do with the fact that, combined, horses coming out of the Florida Derby are now 0 for 32.

That's simply just not possible. The two fastest horses in the crop came out of the race!

I said earlier in the day that if he's going to win, I hope he wins it with style. I didn't want to see some nonsense pokey pace with no challengers. Well, he brought the goods today.

Materiality tried to make a move (he was empty anyway) and Pharoah was back in front in less than two strides. Frosted ran a Belmont winning race but was second best.

The slow motion video of his stride at the finish - at the end of 12 furlongs - was awesome. Deserving winner, left no doubt. Greatest game in the world.

With Authority. The way you want to see a TC won. I've watched the race at least ten times and I am still in awe of the perfect ride that Victor gave him and how easy it looked. And yet his time was the second fastest Belmont by a TC winner. American Pharoah left no doubt: He is the real deal.

Yay!!!

Or how everybody that knows anything knows that Frosted is inferior to Materiality.

Yeah, materiality certainly made a strong case for upstart and the great Florida derby.
