Oh, really? Go investigate that and get back to me with some stats. You might learn something.

Look, the ones that do, are taking away from American jobs

LOL - no. But it makes a good story to foment hate of illegals. Americans don't want to work in farm fields, clean hotel rooms, or hotwalk horses. In fact, last July the United Farm Workers invited unemployed American citizens to "Take Our Jobs". Yes, citizens, come take the "jobs illegals are taking from Americans". Only 4 people accepted jobs working the fields so far in California. Even though unemployment is terrible out there.

And the people that show up at Cook County are the poor from all of Chicago, you assumption they are mostly illegal is absurd. That happens to be
the purpose of that hospital. It exists to help the poor and disenfranchised. Try getting care at Northwestern Memorial or Loyola if you are illegal. Try getting wellness, preventive care anywhere if you are illegal. Try getting regular meds and followup treatment for tuberculosis (common in migrant populations with poor health care in the US) It doesn't happen. No ER can turn away anybody, but they only have to give necessary life-saving care. Nothing further. Put it this way: if it had been an illegal, rather than Gabby Giffords, shot in the head, they would have been discharged once they were out of ICU and they'd be home right now - not in rehab.
Thinking the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is going to give a free ride to illegals - it's specifically contained in the law that illegals are not eligible for any provisions - is beyond absurd.
