![]() * * * Oh my God ed I just watched both, well Jimmy winning twice. Lovely. Just amazing. ![]() Very cool about showing the Wall Street race. Is it me or is the Upsala jockey hitting him when he's already looking like he's going in reverse? ![]() |

I hadn't noticed that. Taylor hardly ever rides in the big races, so maybe the occasion got to him, but that's no excuse. I see he got a warning for that. But it was such an awesome day. I was like "what I have I got myself into?" when I left a warm, sunny Auckland and got to Christchurch - it was 7 degrees Celsius (about 40F I think), windy and raining, and a duck waddled across the paddock as I was walking through the gate at the track! But the racing made it worth it. The rain stopped in time for the big races as well. Apparently Jimmy's going for the Derby now. I'm a bit unsure about that. He's a BRILLIANT miler, but at a mile and a half against Lion Tamer and He's Remarkable? I don't know. I'd prefer to see him stick to shorter distances. His dad, Thorn Park, was all speed. I don't see stamina in his pedigree. But he's a wonderful colt, and good luck to them. |

About 500 miles, so just over an hour in a plane.
I usually go down for the whole week, but the friends there that I stay with are overseas at the moment. So I'm just going to the two Saturdays this time. So I won't see tomorrow's G2 Mile, which Wall Street won brilliantly last year with Tell A Tale second. Here's this year's field: 1 03263 Fritzy Boy 11 105 58.0 Noel Harris Alby MacGregor, Opaki 2 20X51 Barinka 5 103 57.0 Hayden Tinsley Karen Zimmerman, Otaki 3 30745 Hold It Harvey (AUS) 2 102 56.5 Jamie Bullard Terri Rae, Riccarton Park 4 25X47 O'Cartier 18 101 56.0 Chris Johnson John & Karen Parsons, Balcairn 5 X4201 Alagant Satin 3 99 55.0 Sam Spratt Murray & Bjorn Baker, Cambridge 6 25X11 The Meista 15 99 55.0 Ashlee Mundy Peter & Dawn Williams, Riccarton Park 7 0X0X3 Occidentalis (AUS) 14 98 54.5 James McDonald (a) Richard & Chris Otto, Te Awamutu 8 LX012 Altered Image 17 96 53.5 Michael Coleman Michael Moroney & Andrew Clarken, Matamata 9 43162 Royal Flight 1 96 53.5 Jay Misbah Brian & Shane Anderton, Wingatui 10 19X19 El Chico 16 94 53.5 Lisa Allpress Michael Pitman, Yaldhurst, Riccarton 11 1X003 Diamond Skeem 13 94 53.0 Scratching Shane Kennedy, Riccarton Park 12 5X412 Minqar Qaim (AUS) 8 94 53.0 Jason Collett (a) Jason Bridgman, Rangiora 13 6X512 November Rain 19 90 52.5 Michael Walker Richard Collett, Pukekohe Park 14 21212 Jack's Point 10 88 52.0 Darryl Bradley Lisa Latta, Awapuni 15 73953 All In Tempo 9 86 51.0 Samantha Collett Bryce Revell, New Plymouth 16 1X111 Shamrox 12 85 51.0 Danielle Johnson (a) Daniel Champion & Kezia Murphy, Ashburton 17 7X047 Glamorous Girl 6 82 51.0 Mark Du Plessis Roger James, Cambridge 18 3X251 Our Bee Jay 7 78 51.0 Paul Taylor Lisa Vaughan, Ascot Park 19 X7312 Rochallen (AUS) 4 78 51.0 Graeme & Mark Sanders, Te Awamutu Fritzy Boy is the favourite. I like him, Alagant Satin, The Meista, Altered Image, November Rain and Glamorous Girl. Shamrox is interesting - 4 starts, 4 easy wins. This is her first try at stakes level. |

The big boy is back!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dlfFYT1f4w What a win. He's terrific. And in the sprint race, this little speed machine made it 12 wins from 19, and he's won this race two years in a row now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xql_4O66ehw 1:08.05 - flying! |

She'll be so hard to beat if she does. Twilight Savings is one of the best fillies in the race as well, as long as she's recovered from her tough run last weekend. But WCSIN is the favourite, and deserves to be. |
