If someone said Point Given was the best 3-year-old from 2010 going all the way back to Holy Bull ... I wouldn't even attempt to argue.

He was not a joke.

He did not do enough to be in the Hall of Fame. Not even close. I'm losing respect for you thinking he belongs.

He's arguably the best 3yo since Holy Bull. He won the Travers with a 117 Beyer wearing a bar shoe in his final lifetime start.. that to complete a four race sweep of the Preakness, Belmont, Haskell, and Travers.

He wasn't exactly a bad 2yo either ... he missed winning the BC Juvie by a nose despite being 14th and last on the turn. He went by good 2yo's like they were standing still. Macho Uno and Street Cry, the 1st and 3rd place finishers of that race .. were very good 2yos.

You think Lookin At Lucky was better?

What does Lookin at Lucky have to do with this? Nothing. Fact is Point Given didn't do enough. It's all about what you think constitutes a Hall of Fame career. If you want to dumb it down like a standardized test, go ahead. When I saw he got in, an obvious nod to a Baffert love affair in this business I decided it didn't matter who was in the Hall from here on out. Meaningless.

Yes. Older seasons matter. And winning the BC Classic on dirt against older matters. Last I looked, show me Point Given's win against older? Or should Landaluce be in the Hall...I mean she was 5 for 5.

And you act as if you should give bonus points to the horse for being a cripple, aka beating Burning Roma by a neck at Monmouth and winning another race with a bar shoe. I like my horses sound. They don't get bonus points for winning hurt. That;s harness racing.

Curlin's BC Classic win was like a glorified 3yo race anyway. Who were the older horses in that race? Lawyer Ron (who didn't run one step) George Washington (who should have stayed retired and broke down) Awesome Gem (Hey - he ran 3rd) Diamond Stripes

Corinthian won the Dirt Mile the day before with a 119 Beyer in blowout fashion for his final lifetime race ... that was the first year of the watered down Breeders Cup Program.

I'm not saying Curlin won't get in or isn't deserving ... but Point Given had a better 2yo season and better 3yo season ... it's not Curlin's 4yo season was utterly spectacular either. After retirements by Hard Spun, Any Given Saturday, Corinthian, and Street Sense .. who was left besides him?

Point Given would have laughed at Curlin as he was running away from him.
