Once they passed this, then why shouldn't these Republicans not ask for it? Why do the people in need to be left out in cold? Why should it only go to the states that their Representative who voted for it only get it?

This is the same BS on health care. When Nebraska and Michigan and whoever else get special consideration over all other states are there deals and left all other states out in the cold.
exactly.. the money was passed and spent.. I have no idea why Riot feels that Red states shouldnt get any of it.

is the consensus opinion here really that during a recession the government shouldn't stimulate the economy?

when no one else is spending money, how does that not lead to a death spiral?

i honestly don't understand the counter argument.

please explain it to me.

Riot didn't say anything remotely close to that, did Riot?

I don't care if they get any of it or not. That's not the point. The point is they outright lie to their constituents. Politics before country. Politics before the people they represent. Those "people in need" needed the money long before the GOP decided to stop obstructing getting the money available.

Either do I, unless they are into some weird international war criminal thing (which they are nowhere near).

All politicians are liars, but don't you think they went to their constituents saying that they do not favor the stimulus?

From the excerpt:
He and other lawmakers make no apologies for privately seeking stimulus money after they voted against it and continue to criticize the plan: "I strongly opposed the stimulus, but the only thing that could make it worse would be if none of it returned to the taxpayers of Missouri," said Mr. Bond, who is retiring.
