I am not one to write letters to the editor but if i did it would be pretty much word for word on this one...

George W. Bush — worst president in our lifetime

Editor, Times-Dispatch:

In response to Calvin's letter, "Obama's re-election is larger concern than spills": Was Calvin not alive during the administration of George W. Bush? His presidency was many times more dangerous than Obama's.

Bush gave us two unnecessary wars, an unfunded drug program (remember the doughnut hole?), loss of liberty (the so-called Patriot Act), torture (waterboarding and a vice president who said it was OK), and he topped it all off with a tax cut for the wealthy that left us unable to pay our bills. He managed to take a multi-billion-dollar surplus and turn it into a multi-trillion-dollar deficit. Then he handed the whole mess to President Obama to fix.

While I go back to Truman, one has only to go back only four years to find the worst and most dangerous president we have had in our lifetime: George W. Bush.
Obama can take that ignoble title after his 2nd term is over but only if he starts an unnecessary war...
