exactly, the best thing that happened to Clinton's presidency was Newt becoming Speaker.

you get statements like this "I lived through his tenure as Speaker of the House. It wasn't pretty." yet the country absolutely thrived during that time

Unfortunately, that wasn't due to Republican policies or Gingrich's leadership (and I did not vote for Clinton)

Gingrich gets credit for the deficit reduction and strong economy then, exactly as Bush gets credit for killing bin Laden last week. Only in their dreams. History, facts, facts, history, wishes. Not all the same.
