"the condom broke" is not a good excuse for me. If that happens.. go take the morning after pill. If you dont do that and end up pregnant, your fault. if you take the pill every day at the same time, you have like a less than 1% chance of getting pregnant. Just being on the pill and skipping doses is not birth control, its being irresponsible.
my 22 year old friend just got knocked up with her 3rd child. she says "I was on the pill" blah blah blah. then she admitted she would forget doses and not take it at the same time. thats not birth control failure. thats personal failure.
now if you have tubes tied or a vasectomy and you still get pregnant.. well that is the definition of birth control failure. but I would guess that might happen for 1 out of every 5,000 unintended pregnancies.
