Default The Derby...worst betting race of the year?

With all the variable that can happen in a 20 horse field, this is the worst betting race of the year! There are so many things that can go wrong. There are tons of logical contenders and since they are still growing and improving, they all have a chance!

It's fun to watch. But I shall keep my money away from this race

The 2005 Derby Super paid $1,728,507 -- more than Giacomo's share of the purse.

It is the worst Handicapping race of the year, but betting wise it is the best. Throw a few bucks on the race and try to hit a home run! Good Luck everyone!

Not the worst, but as I wrote yesterday---not a race to go in for your lungs either.

Lets see what makes a great betting race:

1) Big field
2) High quality horses
3) Lots of one-time a year players pushing money thru the windows

I think its easier to argue its a great betting race that the worst.

Yep, this is what makes it the best. No other race all year has as much stupid money bet on it. That's all money for us to get!

yeah yeah it will but as much as the Grand Daddy of Them All? No why Jose'. Not even close between the other races and the Derby. I bet you couldn't even put all of the under carded races money together to equal the Derby.

That's the thing....they are nearly all quality horses!! Any of them could peak tommorow!

You know when you see those last race on the card maiden claiming fields that have horses whose best beyer is maybe 40 and they all pretty much stink.... so it's a tossup and basically a guesswork as to which horse will survive and finish first?

Well the Derby is like that except reversed...but the same idea in that it's a tossup.
