No love for Louisiana Derby 04/01/2012?

FG management totally mismanaged this year. Same weekend as Final Four in Big Easy. No rooms available. I can drive 40 miles out of town and stay for $169 per night! My usual $109 room at Hampton Inn was sold out long ago and at much higher price.

Also, FG is splitting FG Oaks from Louisiana Derby again this year. If I go I will just drive in for Sunday Derby and drive out. Leaning toward closer-to-home OTB with free drinks.

Last rant item -- FG reintroduced admission fee for its "premier" days last season. Other three Louisiana tracks NEVER charge admission!
