Pretty soft group for 300k in the Risen Star. El Padrino is supposed to crush that field if hes as good as some around here think he is.

I think El Padrino will be a good gauge on how to proceed with some of these Pletcher horses as they leave Florida.

Really? I don't. To me he's not a flash in the pan. Plus, this Risen Star is very weak. He can easily win this race convincingly and other Pletcher horses fall by the wayside.

I can't argue with any of this. I just wanted to play both sides of the fence in case he runs poorly.

All kidding aside, you're right that he can (and should) easily win. I won't be betting against him, but I'm also not looking to play him at short odds on what to me can be a quirky main track. And while I agree he isn't a flash in the pan like some of the others, I've been fooled (a lot) in the past by horses like him.

Like I said, I'm just trying to be right either way.

Pants On Fire, Gladding, and Cool Blue Red Hot will miss the Mineshaft.

I thought Take Charge Indy might show up in the Risen Star. He would be around 5-2 and El Padrino 7-5?? I thought they both moved up in the slop last time, but going forward I like Take Charge Indy much more. This spot seems softer then the Tampa Bay Derby where he is likely to show up next.
