It makes you wonder which sire out there now is the backbone of the breed?

Unusual Heat was a drop down claimer who had stakes level ability - but a lot of issues .. and he's like the one a lot of people are starting to consider for the best blending of decent quality and decent durability in his offspring.

A lot of his offspring happened to have been trained by a guy who runs his horses like crazy and is more a fan of Lukas like spacing between starts than say the Frankel like spacing that has taken over. Also - a lot of his offspring are in California .. and it's not hard finding races for them because most handle both turf and syn very well and many are Cal breds which leave them with options in both Cal bred and open races. Many also handle any distance from 6f to 10f
