Love the comments:

Raider QB JaMarcus Russell actually had moments where there was some
poise, which is a step forward. He had some good throws, but he’s teased
us in the past
. In the grand scheme of things, he’s still not improving.

The Raiders had a serious pass rush going in the game they almost beat San Diego ... and they had a serious pass rush going in the Philly win.

I think the KC win was a road win for them. With competent qb play - they aren't a complete joke anymore.

That's the problem though, he's so far from competent is isn't even funny. When I said they could win some games this year I knew Russell was bad but underestimated how truly awful he is. With just a bad QB I think they could have been a solid team this year. With Russell they have to play exceptional everywhere else to overcome his awfulness.

Agreed...........Some of us had a better read of Russell and the back QB situation that's why we were so surprised by your win total prediction. That being said Coach Pants loves the 49ers this year and I don't think their QB play will take them very far either.

I'm as big a Russell basher as there is but I had no clue he could possibly be as bad as he is. There is bad for the NFL and then there is just plain bad which you rarely see at that level. The amazing thing is with that schedule this team is 7-9 at worst and possibly contending for the playoffs if they had just gone with Jeff Garcia at QB. But as Al Davis put it to Lane Kiffin: “I realized that you did not want to draft JaMarcus Russell. He is a great player. Get over it.”

I think they have a better shot of getting throttled the next 2 weeks. They can beat KC at home, Cleveland on the road, Washington at home but thats probably it

With Russell they could lose every game. The Jets are pretty terrible and without Jenkins they are even worse. I know Woody got injured against the Bills but haven't checked his status to see if he will be back. You are giving them three games and I think they probably win one more randomly. So think about that, we all know Russell is terrible and yet the Raiders could easily go 6-10 with him. They would be contending for the playoffs with Garcia.

I should add that the fact that Garcia does not have a job is mindboggling. The Tampa Bay Bucs this year are clearly in the ten worst teams I have seen in my lifetime. Yet somehow with Garcia at QB last year they went 9-7. I bet at least 12 teams in the NFL would be better off with Garcia at QB.
