I'm not much of a figure player, but I sure don't see anything that would say he was fast enough to do what he did. Can say all they want 'bout Canada, but he's been too slow.

I thought the trainer looked a bit shy, not arrogant at all.

Found an article from the courier-journal about him- it says he thought Mine That Bird's connections were "stretching it" to enter him in the Derby. Heh. One of the owners says in it, "We'll run better than people have predicted." Uh, yeah. I'll say.

The horse got a great trip (helped by a golden rail) and freaked in the mud!

I didn't think he belonged but he was 2 yr old Canadian champ and was bred very well for the slop. Let's not discredit the performance on this day.
