A cool twist I guess, but it still isn't "perfect". If "field" horses run 1-2-3-4-5-6, then the 7th-place horse would complete the exacta.
I kinda like it that way. If you really feel that of all the options offered there is only one horse you can imagine being a legit Derby threat then exacta boxing it with the field option could be a good play.
