Well I am a huge fan of Jazil but maybe I shouldn't have grouped Birdstone with him. Birdstone was quite the animal. He had to be to run down Smarty Jones.

Casino Drive could miss Belmont with hind leg issue
Peter Pan Stakes (G2) winner Casino Drive, thought by many to be the primary obstacle in Big Brown’s quest for the first Triple Crown in 30 years, did not go to the Belmont Park track on Friday morning because of an issue with his left hind leg.

The horse will be evaluated over the next 24 hours, and owner Hidetoshi Yamamoto still plans to run the Mineshaft colt in the 1 1/2-mile Belmont Stakes (G1) on Saturday, according to Nobutaka Tada, the racing manager for Yamamoto.

Casino Drive is listed at 7-to-2 on the morning line for the Belmont, the only other entrant besides 2-to-5 favorite Big Brown pegged by New York Racing Association oddsmaker Eric Donovan at single digits.

The colt is undefeated in two starts, an 11 1/2-length score in an 1,800-meter (8.95-furlong) maiden event at Kyoto racecourse on February 23 and a facile 5 3/4-length tally in the 1 1/8-mile Peter Pan on May 10 at the Elmont, New York, track.
