So I've got the 2,3,4,5, and 7 at 4.90-1 from my Pool 1 "field" ticket. I like Little Belle quite a bit already, so I guess I'm set on my Oaks betting.

This is setting up as a nice race. I hope eight belles enters cause the payoff odds on the winner will be even sweeter. What do you all see as the pace?

Agree that it's Proud Spell's race to lose with Golden Doc A as a viable longshot . . .

Love Golden Doc A especially if the odds are anywhere close to ML

I was interested in Rasierra and/or Awesome Chic

Might just swing away with Rasierra to win

I kind of like Pure Clan and/or Bsharpsonata.
Pure Clan seems to be moving in the right direction and although Bsharpsonata has been changing surfaces and distances so often that it is a bit tough to get a read on her....I was impressed with her last effort on the dirt (at Gulfstream) despite the relatively slow closing quarter. She still might be better on the turf, but she is pretty effective on dirt too.
I think they both could be good plays.

Is the Oaks at 5:45 east or central?

I'm using Awesome Chic in my exotics. I think she can run some.

Tough to pick between the top three but I'm leaning towards Bsharpsonata. She hasn't had the chance to go beyond a mile on dirt and certainly has a pedigree that would suggest 9 furlongs might be perfect for her. She has the conditioning from the turf and synthetics where she does quite well but I think she's ready to fire a huge one on the dirt.

Next I like Pure Clan. A win by her would certainly flatter Eight Belles and Alina and the only question mark is whether the figure increases going from Churchill to Oaklawn were simply a matter of maturity or indicate she's better at OP.

Proud Spell is certainly capable and it will be interesting to see how the bettors handle her third in the Ashland (which is meaningless in my opinion). If she gets overlooked cause of that race she offers great value. If the bettors looks past that and see her class and she goes off at 2/1 or less it is tough to like her at that price with Bsharp and Pure Clan in the field.

Long way back from the top three to Little Belle, Awesome Chic, Elusive Lady, and the darkhorse Rasierra who all should be battling for fourth. Rasierra may not have the pedigree that suggests 9 furlongs is up her alley but it is tough to argue with her results where she's got better at longer distances.

I'm confident that Golden Doc A is a toss. She gets better at shorter distances so it is unlikely she is going to be doing much running at the end. Looks like a nice filly at 7 furlongs to a mile but I don't like her at all at 9. She might be able to beat Absolutely Sindy at least to avoid the embarassment of a last place finish.

$1 Super
Bsharpsonata
Pure Clan, Proud Spell
Pure Clan, Proud Spell
Little Belle, Awesome Chic, Elusive Lady, Rasierra
