Nah, you made a couple shekels. Derby exacta paid $101 for $2.

I had win money on Scat Daddy and Liquidity (shut up, no comments please - I had a 'vibe' early in the season that a Tiznow would win the Derby) as well, so the exacta literally just covered my bets if I remember correctly.

Whatever, I loved Scat Daddy.

It's alright, we all have these strange Derby vibes. I had a dream the night before the Derby last year it was going to be Street Sense-Hard Spun-a pink silks Silverton Hill horse... and about 40 yards from the wire I felt like phuckin' Nostradamus.

No you didn't, you felt like an @$$hole when Sedgefield didn't get up for the monster tri and you hadn't played Curlin in third.

Oh, Sedgefield was THERE for the MONSTER tri (watch the replay)... and I felt kicked in the nuts when Curlin got there (I did have it, but compared to the year before it felt wimpy.)

By the way, Ruffian thought I was smoking crack when I told her that Derby morning, then she proceeded to play that tri straight (those two over Dominican/Sedgefield.) She almost had a heart attack midstretch!

Sedgefield ran lights out in the Derby ... I was shocked at how well he ran.

I hated Dominican in the Derby ... poly specialist to the tee.

He was an OK horse that got an absolute DREAM trip. There's one bomb every year that gets that trip, that's where post positions (and riders) definitely matter.

I would have much rather had that vibe than the one I had. Both Scat Daddy and Liquidity are still running ...

Perhaps Colonel John will be my Tiznow knight in shining armor this year.
