Spanish Chestnut has never run better. He looked fantastic opening day dueling I'm The Tiger the whole race while finishing third to an unbelievable closing kick by Awsome Twist.

I'm scratching Belenus.... he won at Newmarket today so it looks like Cherry Mix might be the new rabbit for Godolphin.

1967..I believe it was the Woodward. Dr. Fager, Damascus and Buckpasser ran. Hard to remember a race when 3 horses of the year ran in the same race.

I am 99.99% sure that honor goes to Songandaprayer (but that speed seems to be serving him just fine in terms of 2YO progeny!)...


As for this rabbit race, I'd go with Cherry Mix, no question. He was 2nd in THE ARC!!!!!!!! IMO that is the toughest and greatest race in the world.
