Another nice race by Sumwon!!! I was very pleased again to see her gutsy effort and her willingness to keep trying. That's a tough commodity to come by in a horse and it is a very valuable one to have. I love to win races but I also don't mind milking a condition for all it is worth.....

For those who seem to take exception to some comments in this thread - why even bother? There's always going to be someone somewhere who finds fault in something. Given that forums like these are built on second-guessers and negative thinkers, we as owners of a very nice horse should easily be able to accept the criticism. We're getting to walk a few footsteps in the shoes of others who have owned much better horses than we do and yet they get blasted for every move they make. If you are going to be an owner with a highly publicized horse, you've got to have thick skin - and a good calculator while you count your purse money.....

Thanks go out to Chuck and crew for another job well done!!!!!!

Congrats to all of you folks and to your special girl. She is fun to watch. My wife was even rooting her on and she isn't even much into horse racing. I really hope to see her in Saratoga!! Great Job!

Just a question for those who play Arlington Park on a regular basis - do you not want to be right on the rail? I noticed Sumwon was 3 wide the whole race. (and I mean this as no knock on Willie, he is really good with her!)

Well, skunked in my bets. That's the way it goes. The upside:
1) she demonstrated, once again, that she's running at the level where she belongs,
2) she confirmed her ability to run on an artificial surface, thereby adding to her versatility and value,
3) she picked up a few grand more to pay the bills,
4) I now have a better chance of seeing her first win since Saratoga is within my range.
All in all, not a bad day.
Congrats everyone, and, once again, thanks Chuck and Steve for the trip.

We'll get her to love the game yet
I was a little disappointed, but still proud! Runs her race everytime, now if she could only change her leads sooner.

Who was staggering, someone in the partnership when they thought she was going to win, or Sumone because she hung on that lead?

I know Ive felt my knees get a little weak right before they cross the line.

i'll try to remember that. one of my strengths/weaknesses is that i am loyal to a fault. i can take criticism directed towards me, but not so much if it's directed to anyone i have a connection to. i admit it! is there a 12 step program for that??
