i have to agree she had a good trip. Rated nicely made a great move, her problem was changing her leads. If that would have happened 'correctly', ya'll would have a picture.

just wondering (not being a richard) why do you feel she didnt have a good trip?

I think your assment of the race is correct .I may be wrong but the seconditis term refers to a horse that dosnt give the effort to win and settles for secon. Sum1 dosent settle for second. She may get beat, but she battles all the way and ends up second. She is by no means a quiter that settles for minor placing.Im not a part of the partnership but I think they have one with some talent a lotta heart.

Jpops, well said.
Our gal is a battler, she stepped up a notch, was just off the pace, and almost had enough to outfinish a fast closing heavy favorite.
I'll settle for that.

She is far from a quitter. A quitter doesnt hold on for 2nd yesterday. All I am saying with the seconditis thing is she gets a lot of 2nds. Her record shows that. Like I said it's not a bad thing.

Maybe it's the term seconditis...it refers to a character flaw to some sorta like 'hanger' and the like. The optimistic likes to just say she ran into two good fillies those days.

a perfect trip doesn't guarantee victory. . . that's the part of your argument that doesn't make sense. . .

yeah, maybe not perfect but it was a good trip. it is a horse race after all! she rated real nice i was impressed, and i was totally impressed with her courage, a lil' different lead change would have been all it took for a win.

I watched the race with a guy who's been in the biz his whole life. He said that when he started 50k was a decent stakes race. Also, to take a horse from the "bottom" ranks (where sumwon started) to finish a head out in a good allowance at churchill is rarely done (without the help of pletcher/allday of course).

You guys have yourselves a heck of a filly

Just got home and watched the race replay...another great effort in a tough race. Man this horse is a tough gutsy competitor!

Congrats to Steve, Chuck and all the owners. You should all be VERY proud. Keep it going...and keep getting those nice checks!
