She didn't settle here. She fought the 3-5 favorite who was exiting a Graded Stake to the bitter end. She came back on the 2 horse on the inside that headed her earlier in the stretch. Just because she has two seconds in a row does not mean she is settling. She also went by the winner in the runout. Watch the races.

Off topic, the top three were 8.25 lengths clear of the rest of the field.
Umm I have seen both races. No need to get you skirt in a knot. She is a nice filly. But she had an easy/uncontested lead in her last and still got 2nd. Was not a bad race at all..she ran good. Today she got an IDEAL stalking trip and got 2nd. Great ride by Martinez. But come on..it doesnt get much easier than today's trip.

The runout means absolutely nothing. Thats stretching my friend.

what is your point? You can have a good trip and get nailed by a better horse. Who said it was a tough trip?

My point is the horse had a perfect trip. Thats all. Probably shoulda won with that perfect trip. . But still ran very respectable. The horse who beat her is obviously a good horse to catch her with that trip.

How to you figure that with a perfect trip she should have won? The general public had the horse that beat her at 3 to 5 odds. Translation: Sumwon was supposed to take a good beating from her regardless of the trip. Instead, Sumwon made that filly fully extend herself to get by.

FYI, SWLY gets a good trip everytime because she has natural speed.

She will never get a bad trip I agree. She was late changing to her right lead and once she did after Willie urged her over, she had another burst to nearly win. I think with a timely lead change at the top of the stretch rather than mid stretch, she'll be ever better as others have said on here.

Jim

You seem like a rational person. You dont think that a horse that gets a perfect trip should win? I understand the favorite was suppose to win...but you know as well as I do that fav's dont always win.

I am not saying she ran bad today.....IMHO I just thought she shoulda won off the trip.

No need for the nuclear assault being launched at me by some. I come in peace. Lol.

NO assault. You make some good points. Humble Janet even had a better trip getting through on the inside and she passed Sumwon, and Sumwon did outfight her and ran past her and nearly got to LE Chateau as well. She was also getting 7 lbs from the winner as well which must be taken into account.

Exactly. I thought the 2 would easily get by her. The 2 didnt. That alone was impressive enough.

In all honesty I think sometime people who are involved in owning a horse become "blinded" at times to whats really going on. The person who called me an a-hole obviosuly cant handle losing so perhaps shouldnt be involved in the game. I am just stating some facts.

You all got a nice horse for 25k. You should be happy. After the first race the horse might not have seemd like a great buy...but she is a nice purchase.

No nuclear assault. You told me not to get my skirt in a knot and I responded to your juvenile comment.

I own many other horses. Which means nothing in this discussion. I was trying to make a point which I apparently failed to do, but I thank AJ for making it for me.

Your missing one point stoneman...she's a 3 year old getting better eith only 3 races with a real training. SHe's move forward in all her races and has a lot more potential to improve. Easy trip...yes, but hse's getting better and better.

Ok....loud an clear. THIS IS A NICE HORSE !!!!!!

I don't own her so maybe I am coming from a different point of view. I just thought with todays trip she should have won. Perhaps the horse that beat her is a monster..only time will tell.

I am curious to see how she runs without an optimum set up.

But all in all was a nice purchase by Simon....the horse has rapidly improved under his care.

She lost to a 3:5 favorite. Not a monster, just a better horse right now. No biggie. Twas a good race. Chuck got a 25K claim running much better. Im certainly pleased. I was not expecting this level so I guess Im easy to please.

Nobody AJ.

Obviously an _______, I was just pointing out that she got beat by better horses and the settling comment was off base and he/she goes to the skirt card.

Whatever.

No need for to be such a dick. I am sorry your horse lost. I had zero betting interest in the race. I am a fan of Steve Byk. He knows who I am. I hope the best thing for the horse.

But if you cant see that all I am saying is she had an easy trip and shoulda run then so be it.

Damn...maybe you shouldn't own a hrose /get so emotionally involved if it is gonna cause you to go off. Take a deep breath and relax.
