![]() yes thanks for clarifying. I mean THE Belmont. Based on what happens yesterday, I don't think he can beat the Top 3, but it's not out of the realm for him to be pointed towards trying.

![]() Look the fact of the matter is, the bar shoe is a factor. I dont care how Pletcher tried to spin it, if you have to train your horse in a bar shoe, its because there is a problem with his feet. And to have that happen, on the biggest racing day, in the biggest field of his life,,,,,,Its a problem! And he ran like I thought he would.

![]() IF the problems with his feet are resolved, I don't see why not... he's a lot nicer of a horse than what he ran yesterday. When I saw how ouchy he looked in the post parade, I knew he was toast. Such a shame... I love this horse.
And YES, I was wrong about his Derby chances. Very happy that Street Sense and Hard Spun ran well, though. At least those two showed up for me! ![]()

![]() Did anybody see Scat Daddy's trip? Midway on the backstretch he ran up on somebody and his head was literally cocked to the left over the other horse's hip and then was bodyslammed by another horse from the outside, after that he spit the bit and Prado just stood up on him. I dont think he wouldve won the Derby, but certainly couldve put up a better effort.

IMO, this horse has little to no chance of even making it to the Belmont. He isn't a mile and a half type of horse anyway, but his performance in the Derby was so bad that it shouldn't even warrant a try from a trainer like Todd Pletcher. If he does run in the Belmont, he will be an easy toss. Before the Derby, Todd Pletcher said that the horse had been working in 'bar shoes' or 'similar' for a long time. Pletcher is notorious for statements like these and this particular statement most likely meant that Todd Pletcher had been working him in similar type shoes until he recently switched him to bar shoes. The significance of this was that the horse's feet had not been right for some time and that the condition of them was most likely deteriorating. He was an easy toss in the Derby based on this. |

How do we know he was working in bar shoes before, I personally think he said that to try and make it not seem so bad. I think someone would have noticed it, or said something.
