But you can’t tell me that as a fan, it wouldn’t have added more intrigue to the Classic to have both of them run there instead. Maybe I’m way off (and I’m sure you would say I am) but I believe that of Code of Honor or McKinzie had won the Classic, they probably win HoY with it, no matter what Bricks or Midnight did in their respective races. Bricks and Midnight both had divisional title a locked up even with loses. So I don’t think there was anything to lose by shooting for the bigger prize.
Because YOU want to see owners that put huge sums of money into the game lose out on great opportunities for special moments, just so YOU can somehow get your jollies, says a great deal about who YOU are, not who I am. You have posted a steady stream of preposterous things on message boards over the years. Just because you type them doesn't make them smart, right, or clever.

There are times to take shots, no doubt, but there are also times where the appropriate spots are obvious. Clearly both Bricks and Mortar, as well as Midnight Bisou, ran in the right spots. Expected value matters, both positively and negatively. You say they had nothing to lose. Bricks and Mortar won $2 million yesterday, plus perhaps any bonuses tied to his stud deal, when he sealed up a Horse of the Year title that pretty much everyone other than you believe he would have gotten regardless of the Classic result.

Calling me a "traditionalist" ( you gotta love idiotic passive aggressive stupidity on the internet ) when all I am is realistic, while also being extremely well aware of times when taking risks are worthwhile, just shows how little you actually understand ( relative to what you think you understand ).

Midnight Bisou was scheduled to be sold at The November Sale, Fasig-Tipton's breeding stock sale in Lexington, but the ownership group of Bloom Racing, Madaket Stables, and Allen Racing elected to keep her in training, with Jeff Bloom, the head of Bloom Racing, saying the time is at hand for the Steve Asmussen-trained 4-year-old to take on the boys, perhaps in the Pegasus and/or the Saudi Cup.

"Will she run against the boys? Yes," Bloom said. "We'll look at the Pegasus and the Saudi Cup. She's been consistently happy and sound and thrives on her job, so as long as she wants to do it, we'll let her run. We'll work out a plan to get back to the Breeders' Cup."
