![]() Farewell, Mr Gwynn. As lifelong Astros fan, I admired his body of work. He knew pitchers better than these pitchers knew themselves. Gwynn understood analytics before term 'sabermetrics' was defined.
Tony Gwynn blended art and science of hitting masterfully. In today's environment, I would venture to say he would be shift buster.
