Funny thing about Master Command. If the first half in his race is in :47 or more, he's right there at the finish, usually winning. If the first half is in less than :47, he finishes well-beaten. He's not always on the lead, but he needs that easy pace up front. Check the PPs to confirm. Once Liquor Cabinet came out of the New Orleans H, Master Command was a shoo-in, since nobody else in the field was going faster than :47 early. But watch him self-destruct against a field with genunine early speed.

i think master command is solid at best, nothing special im sure he can continue to beat weak fields and pick up checks, if he faces a real horse... corinthian, discreet cat, invasor, chatain, even a handful of 3 yr olds i'd say he'd be in trouble

You know what? I was on same page with you before. But something in my gut tells me he might develop a little more this year then people think. Sure pace and field make up allowed him to waltz at FG. But while I am not predicting a BC Classic victory, I think he will hold his own with some of horses you just mentioned. Neil Howards comments after race also stated he thinks MC has developed into a better horse. We will see

The monster this year will be Showing Up. I wish Tagg would put him back on the dirt to go @ the B.C Classic. 10f is his best trip. Although give the cup panel time and there will be a 10f on the turf. Sleeper horse could be neil Howard's Brilliant. As for the girls Cassydora is a nice one. HAs anyone heard anything about Lady of Venice? Nothing on the workout search. 3yo fillie to watch on the lawn is Romans' Zofzig.
