Default Gomez Now Has a $2 Million Lead Over Prado

Garret Gomez has now got a $2 million lead in the national standings over Edgar Prado. I know that some of you will say that we should not count foreign earnings. Gomez has now surpassed Prado even if we don't count foreign earnings.

Richi if he went by its not by much. Prado had him by 70 grand going into today.
Of course Prado hasn't ridden in a while, he took off this month and I haven't seen him on a horse in a while.
Prado and Gomez both rode great this year, but Johnny missed prime time and is riding as good now as he has since he was injured.
Johnny will be back on top next year.

Gomez won 5 races today, including the $100k feature race. Even if Prado has taken time off lately, he still has more mounts than Gomez.

I couldn't care less about who wins more money, or more races, and they're both good riders, BUT, don't use the number of rides Prado has as some defense of Gomez being better ( maybe he is...who cares ). Prado rides too many horses, that's always been a problem of his, and if anything it detracts from his overall earnings as crazy as that sounds. Have you ever taken a good look at some of the horses he rides? It's ABSURD.

Anyway, carry on. But remember, Gomez only won this title because Johnny got hurt. Period. He's probably a better rider than Johnny, though who cares as they're both good, but he would never have won this thing if not for the misfortune of another.

But, then again, Prado benefited from Mig's misfortune about seven years ago.

The only reason I brought up total mounts was because Oracle was saying that Prado had taken some time off. I was saying that you can't use that as an excuse because Prado still has more mounts.

I was wrong about the number of races Gomez won today. I thought I heard one of the commentators on TVG say that he won 5 races today. He won 4 races today, not 5.

The haters said he wouldn't make it in NY now he is gonna win the eclipes award away from NY's golden boy. Johnny V. The only arguement with johhny v is that i would like to see him not ride 1st call for pletcher and bounce around from stable to stable. His agent would half to work to hard and wouldn't be able to sit at the barn and decied which one of pletchers looks better to ride.
