Default The Vegas Trip II (Timeline included)

This trip was FAR from the craziness of our last trip out there (if you were able to read the trip timeline). It was actually COLDER out in Vegas then it was in Chicago, which is really hilarious.

Saturday Noon: Cruise to OTB to try and pad the bankroll, place 9 bets, and NAIL ALL 9, have never left the OTB so fast in my life, with actual money in my pocket

Saturday 4pm: Watch Rounders to get pumped for FREE tourney

Saturday 9pm: Flight out to Vegas, FLIGHT ABSOLUTELY TOOK forever because of stupid jet streams like a usual 3hr 20min flight took 4 hours

Saturday 11pm PST: Get off plane and down to baggage, I don't check a bag, friends check and I have to wait for them.

Saturday 11:15pm: Finally get outside and into cab, direct to Ballys....Friend brings cigars, just bought a humidor and can't get the friggin thing open.

Sunday Midnight: Go to Caeser Palace, start playing BJ and getting hammered

Sunday 5am: Up $200 and ready to leave table, end up not leaving table because not able to check into room until Sunday night

Sunday 6:30am: Go to sportbook and get seats completely disgusted, ready to kill blackjack dealer because I ask 5 times to put my double down's DOWN and not up. GET SMOKED in 90 minutes

Sunday 7:45am: SIU line gets put up and I RUN as fast as I have ever run to put the rest of my roll on them. SIU -1.5

The next 2 hours I sit in the sportsbook and stare at screens while talking to this man from Kansas, he asks me "How come you ran to window at 7:45am" I tell him I put all my money on SIU line. He says "here is 100 $ bill, go play it for me" Scav has shocked look on his face. Man from Kansas is crazy rich guy that likes to talk about his accomplishments in life, while I just got smoked for a grand at the blackjack table..blah...guy was nice though

Sunday 10am: NFL starts, could care less until 1pm when Bears start. Meanwhile, 92,200 TV's in the book and NOT ONE OF THEM has the SIU game on. Get pissed and talk to book manager, says he can put it on small screen, I oblige, knowing he wasn't taking the NFL off the screen.

Sunday Noon: Book manager shifts ends, and new guy takes SIU off, have to watch stupid screen with rolling clicker the whole time, PLEA with manager to turn the game on, no love, finally I ask him that if an NFL game is a blowout can you change it on ONE OF THE SMALLER SCREENS that it was on to the last five minutes of SIU game.

Sunday last minutes of the SIU game: They pull it out, Scav a little happy

Sunday: Showing up 20 minutes to race: Open at 1/2...****, I was hoping for like 8/5, wishful thinking I guess

Roll SIU winnings on Showing Up, back to respectable number

Sunday Before Bears/Pats game: Annilated friend yells in SILENT sportsbook, TOM BRADY SUCKS. Bears fan migrate to our area as I rocked my Urlacher jersey, like 5 more fans

Bears game: Don't really want to talk about, absolutely disgusting

Chargers/Raiders game: Fans get REAL heated between two tattooed monsters, girlfriends start yapping each other about what hood they are from, quite hilarious

Bears game ends, FINALLY get into room, want to do nothing but sleep. Pass out for like 13 hours. 33 hour shift SMOKED ME, never slept better

Monday morning: Go to Bally's buffet, decent, getting ready for poker tourney

Monday Poker Tourney: outlasted both of my friends (only bragging rights of trip), caught one hand and donked off most of my chips on two bluffs, decent, if anything, blind structure. Got a WSOP jacket.....

Monday after poker tourney until flight departure: Drunk and broke, comedy situation.

We did check out two steakhouses out there. Bally's Steakhouse (Was free because all three of us had a $50 food voucher, courtesy of Ballys and also had money on our Total Rewards card, dinner was $300, and we didn't have to pay a single thing in currency)

Sidenote: I can see what Jess Jackson is rich, I saw his wine on the menu and ordered it up, went through 2 bottles and GOT HAMMERED, it was absolutely outstanding

We also went to N9ne at Palms and was impressed. Food and service was outstanding. Very trendy. The casino is very bootleg though, it is so hilarious and it is completely for yuppies, real gamblers want nothing to do with that place.

Sidenote #2: Vegas Airport is ****ING BOOTLEG. I carried my bag on at O'Hare and got through security with NO PROBLEM. I go through Vegas and have all sorts of problems. Friggin I had some cologne and hair product that was OVER 3.4 ounces and tough old guy looking for a casket giving me all sorts of problems. WAS FUMING. Had to go all the way back to American terminal to CHECK MY FRIGGIN BAG and then back through security. Meanwhile the comedy old guy doesn't check the 30 Xanax's I have in my same bag, with no medical label on them.....They are getting out of control with this crap

All in all, I learned that I have to have a room to go to and not be 'stranded' like I was from flight landing until Sunday night, also learned that online players are completely spoiled, early lines, rebates, watch whatever game we want if available, multiple viewings.

Thanks Mike

You know, as a kid that liked to gamble and was around friends that liked to gamble, all we could talk about is Vegas and the f'n Mirage. Honestly, and this might just be because I have gone so much recently (3 times in like 12 months), it has becomed played out.

The negatives that I have

1) Hands are out everywhere
2) Jerkoffs that jump tables and play two hands and then jump out, back and forth (we had one guy that was lucky I was up for 36 hours and had to get medvac'ed to my room because he was back and forth between two tables for 90 minutes, at like 5am)
3) Crappy lines (Bears were +170 on the Moneyline at Caeser's, were +220 on Pinnacle)
4) People not trusting trustworthy people becuase of all the jerkoffs that try to take advantage of people out there(no more free drinks for sports bettors because of all the bums needing a taste, getting a DRF at some places is like a security breach)
5) ALWAYS ALWAYS staying up for like 40 hours straight once you get there (I am a firm believer of the oxygen theory because when I get into Vegas, I am ROARING to go, and I don't stop, never even get tired, even when getting smoked)
6) Porn card flickers with their thumbs, I saw one of them try to give those to a 10 year old kid, the old man went nuts on the guy
7) The tough Cali guys that cruise up their for the weekend to try and represent
8) The math genius' at the blackjack table
9) The poker jerkoffs that watch too much poker on TV and act like jerkoffs and have ruined the game of Texas Holdem
10) the old 'TSA' people at the airport that have no idea about anything,
11) the flight back
12) the BS that they actually rate you, and you are playing $50 a hand, and you end up seeing they have you rated at $25 a hand

there are more, but those can't be typed

He is a horrible card player. From what I have heard out there and read online that he doesn't play that much anymore and that he only plays with sponsored money. not a single penny from his winnings have ever been put into play. I have also heard that he gets smoked when he sits cash games on a consistent basis.

When I sat down, Moneymaker kept raising preflop then follow up with a bet ALL THe TIME. He raises in first position and im on the button holding JJ. I make it three bets, BB calls, Moneymaker caps it. Flop is Jack, 8, 4. Two hearts. BB checks Moneymaker bets, I raise, BB folds, Moneymaker reraises. I call, then the turn is a 3 of hearts. Moneymaker bets, I call. River brings another heart a 5 of hearts. Money bets, I make a crying call. He was just trying to make a play on me with 10,5 off. One of which was a ****ing heart. Just alot of sick BS
