Default BREEDERS CUP WEEK . . . is HERE!!! Updates & Extras

So we are at the end of our racing season as far as the contests go. BCnotes, extras will be added here. We will have double the bank roll and double points results for double the fun!!! As always, the $200 can be spread over the two days of racing for your four wagers.

NOTE: for Breeders Cup, you may only wager on the BC races Fri and Sat and we will only be playing the BC races each day for the Points Contest , no under card stuff.

The Points and ROI Contest result will be added into the yearly totals to determine "Points and ROI Totals" Champ and ROI Champ. And of course, we have the BC "Gallivan Cup" to award.

More to follow . . . enjoy your week

"Oh frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"

Post position draw for each of the 14 races will begin at 5:30 PM Eastern today.

Right now the countdown clock says 4 days, 5 hours and 54 minutes. I will need every bit of that to puzzle through some of the most difficult handicapping challenges of the year. Reminds me of studying for finals.

You're right, it does remind me of some "all nighters" back in Academia land. I'm going to try to avoid that, if I can this year. Have already studied the dirt races for Saturday. They are merely impossible, but don't all have full fields. The fun will come in with the Turf races which are all fully packed with entrants and of course will not have nearly enough info because of the presence of the Euros which will turn it into a major guessing game. At least for me.

I hear what you are saying Cal. After the post positions were announced I attempted to tackle a couple of the turf races. I started with the Juvie Turf Fillies and within only a couple of minutes realized that I was in the deep end without water wings and waaaay over my head. I don't know how to compare the times or quality of races some of those fillies have been competing in. I had been playing in a Godolphin fantasy stables contest for the past few months and thought that would help with the Euros, but it barely scratches the surface. Looking at the morning line, I suspect that the oddsmaker was equally perplexed.

Actually, I don't too much mind the British races because they at least give you a brief description of how a runner did in the race although I have never been able to understand how a horse can be "pushed" along, but you can understand what running style a horse has, but races in other parts of Europe or Ireland, you get very little with which to make a judgement other than how the top three finished and how the horse you're looking at in the PPs finished. I don't think they even tell you what post position the horse had, but could be wrong about that.
