We start race 3 and end race 10 .. race 3 post time 1:41 ET time.

It will be worthwhile to pay attention to scratches and changes on this card. As Ruff had announced, the schedule originally called for 8 stakes races, but there are only 6 on Saturday's card. The other two were to be run on the turf and they have been moved to another day. Management didn't want to take the risk off having to take a major state bred stakes race off of the turf.

The two non-stakes races on our program have both been planned for the turf, but the forecast does not bode well. Today's Belmont card will probably be completed before the rains start, but the overnight forecast calls for rain. Trainers are well aware of this; race 4 has 7 MTO's listed and that is the sort of race that could likely be taken off of the turf if the forecast is correct.

It’s a lot easier than having to go back
and try to change everything on Saturday before the deadline!

I think that we settled that question a while ago. We post our 5 picks and then we may amend them up until the entry deadline. We can't post alternate fields. Our entry deadline is 1:41 PM Eastern [11:41 AM Mountain], so there is plenty of time to check for changes and scratches and amend our picks accordingly.

Who said this sport and wagering was supposed to be easy. It is truly one of the mosst difficult abstractions I have ever tried to figure out each and every time I try. That's what makes it fun and frustrating at the same time . . . symbolic of real life!!!

That philosophy should get you into the proper frame of mind for the upcoming BC races - a group of the most difficult and challenging handicapping puzzles we encounter all year. Perhaps the degree of difficulty it what makes it so enjoyable to me on the rare occasions when I am able to get it correct.
