ROI Results 9/1 @ Saratoga

Well. Closing weekend at Saratoga beat most of us like a drum on Saturday. Most but not
all. There's just something about Saratoga that makes even losing worth the experience
whether in person or virtually. On to Saratoga 2019. Only one winning wager was made on
Saturday. Ruffians horse in the 8th crossed the line first at 26-1 but a disqualification
caused her $795 hit to be reduced to zero. Not only that but the horse that finished second
was also DQed giving the original third place horse the win. Guess you see everything at
Saratoga. Tough beat Ruffaroo. The day and the win belonged to Cruzan whose Sippican
Harbor closed like a freight train in the 10th to return $34 to Cruzan for the win and a big
return of $425. Good call Cruzan and congrats on the win. Following are the unofficial
results pending any DQ on my part. (it does happen). See you all next week maybe where
the green green grass grows.

Cruzan, very nice call on Sippican Harbor. She looked impressive in beating some very high profile fillies, although I think the hype on Chasing Yesterday was a bit over the top. The owners of Sippican Harbor must be sailing enthusiasts - it's located in Marion, MA, just off of Buzzards Bay and close to the entrance to the Cape Cod Canal, and is a popular mooring spot for yachtsmen.

Ruff, that was a very difficult DQ to absorb. It's as if the NYRA stewards have looked the other way for too long and decided to catch up all at once by disqualifying both of the top two horses. Probably was a foul, but no more flagrant than ones they have allowed to stand.

RQ, I'm looking forward to your selection; any place with green, green (or even blue) grass is OK with me.
