| IRS Idiots Last month I get a tax bill saying I still owe 6K for my 2014 taxes. In 2014 I had 18 taxable hits. I claimed all 18. Nine were from on track and nine were through TVG. PA Bets runs the TVG platform here in Pennsylvania. The nine I claimed said TVG on the top of the W2. The IRS must of had nine that said PA Bets on them and told me that I did not claim them. Can't they look and see that the dollar amounts add up to the penny for what i claimed was TVG? So I wrote them and said TVG IS PA Bets and all were claimed. Are they that F'in stupid? So I get a letter back in the mail yesterday saying they need 90 days to investigate. They also said I should start paying down the 6K I owe them so I don't have to pay more fines and penalties. FU IRS!!!! Sorry. Rant over. |

You have to do the research yourself and give them a layout for you to be successful. If you are Excel savvy, put together a spreadsheet that notes all W2G's. The 6k you owe them, did they detail it out, as it 'you owe 6k because of unpaid taxes on X amount of unclaimed revenue'? |

 2) The irs gets a copy of what you get 3) This may have to do with the losses you claimed which can only be deducted to the extend of winnings, you cannot have a loss from gambling 4) you can ask for a installment plan to pay them for up to 10 years or 120 months you need a CPA to clear this up for you cost less than 200 bucks a opposed to 6 grand and a lien |

Saratogadew, if you want, PM me and we can discuss particulars, I'll do what I can when I can. On what planet does a CPA cost only $200 for this amount of work? Its at least 8 hours, and around here they are $150-$300 a hour. |

| scav i passed the 22 hour 2.5 day CPA exam in 1981, after 17 years in private schools including 5 years at a world class university and have practiced as CPA for almost 35 years on earth i could clear this up with a 30 minute review of the documents and a 30 minute phone call to the IRS on the practioners phone line..you need a couple of big macs to end the day Last edited by Secretriat34 : 01-31-2016 at 08:33 PM. |

I submitted all 18 w2's. 9 were hits from "on track". (Saratoga, Pimlico, Monmouth ect.) 9 were from TVG. I only claimed losses up to my winnings for all 18. Zeroed out. The letter they sent me stated that I did not claim 9 W2's from PA Bets. These were the exact figures down to the penny that I claimed from TVG. I will await their decision and get my accountant involved if they don't realize their mistake. |
