Default got my heart broke today

im a guy who will look at replays and find something that looks better then it shows and ill bet that horse everytime until i feel its given its best effort and can do no better
and beleive me with this method i have chased alot of horses that never turned the corner
well about 6 months ago i found a horse that i just loved i put in the comments closed and got shut off maybe next time well i chased and chased mind you ,for no real money maybre 10 win place bet
i chased this horse maybe 7 times in a 6 month period and it wasnt close
well it pops up in my virtual stable and tells me its running today at arlington and i noticed a new jockey so i put my standard 10 win place bet and wheeled her in a backend double 8th aand 9th
the 8th winner payed 20 and change
now we go to my horse who goes off 27 to one gates open and he pops for the lead which was strange but immedialtly drops back ,so im thinking well same horse another 30 down drain but coming around turn i see him loooking to get position in back of leaders and low and behoold he hits the lead and holds off everyone im going to grab 7 hundred but hold all tickets my horse MARAGON drifts out ,causing interference and he get put 3rd another story thats just hits you in gut
in case anyone is interested i have one horse that ive followed for about 2 months now at arlington lotta heat give it a look when its out

It NEVER works out in your favor. Accept it or play slots.

After a tough beat like that, I always think of the famous line from the movie 'Patton' - "God help me, but I love it so"...

That sucks. That is a tough beat. But I have a stupid question for you. I think all of us will sometimes bet a horse back that had a lot of trouble. But if the horse has no excuses in his next race, why would you continue to bet the horse for several races? Depending on the situation, I may bet a horse back once or maybe twice if there was a good reason to give him another chance, but if he runs poorly with no excuses at that point, I'm not going to keep betting him every time he runs. Why would you keep betting a horse several races after a bad trip? If he runs bad his next couple of races in a row after the trouble, it probably means that you either overestimated the trouble, or the horse is no longer in form.

There was no malicious intent by my post nor geekers response. The summation of our posts is as follows: We understand the IRONY of this game. Relish it and enjoy.
