Default Paul Moran RIP

An excellent writer and a veteran on this weekend of Veteran's Day. He will be missed. And his last column was right on the mark. Link at end.

Sobering news. Moran was a passionate and articulate fan of the sport, and yes, he will be missed.

Very sad news.

What I think may have been his last piece:

Moran was smart and funny and pulled no punches. Unlike some of the sport's current critics in the media, he didn't have an agenda when he sought to point out something he didn't agree with and you never had to wonder if he liked or cared about the game. He gave the impression of being irascible but was in fact exceedingly personable, thoughtful and imperturbable. And he could really write. Was saddened when he had to retire 5 years ago and further saddened to see him taken at just 67. He had plenty to say and it was always worth hearing him out.

Agree strongly with Steve's comments . . clearly loved the game, but a straight shooter.

Does anyone have a link to his award-winning deadline piece on the Go For Wand tragedy ?

I remember emailing him after reading one of his espn columns I disagreed with and getting a reply from him- he, of course, refuting all of my arguments, but I was really touched that he took the time to respond.
