![]() Been around for years. It's the game system of 'Instant Racing' that got Oaklawn seeded and is working nicely at Kentucky Downs and now Ellis Park. It's also the premise behind CDI's 'Luckity'.

I thought I had the machine figured out and was probably a month away from GA when it suddenly disappeared. I've been to firehouse fundraisers that showed films of old races and raked in 50% take but my favorite was the Grand Union Supermarket scratch off. A half hour TV show was devoted to showing old races from Hialeah. If your number won you could get up to $50 in groceries and the tickets were given away when a purchase was made at checkout. |

What was really cool on a personal note was seeing the one and only horse my father ever bid on as a yearling in one of the clips. |

![]() Yup, it was Tropical Park and it was the first synthetic track, I believe they called it "Tartan Turf". Used to watch it every week looking for my winning number. LOL

![]() Up here in Greater Boston and Southern New Hampshire, the show that Grand Union sponsored was called "Let's Go to the Races".
That was int he days before "legal" OTB's and Wagering Accounts and Al Gore inventing the internet. |
