![]() I live by the motto 'If it's free, it's for me, and can I take three!?' -- so I was up at the casino this evening to use my weekend free food, free drink, and free $25 match play bet they give me.
I arrive before the 9th and final race at Mountaineer. One of the night bettors that's always there tells me that five of the eight horses who've won on this card, so far, at Mountaineer had broke from post position #1. He also said that posts 1-2-3 made up huge trifectas in the last two races at Mountaineer the day before. He told me "I think the rail is really good -- but I don't think any of the jockeys do. At least they aren't riding like they do." I didn't think much of it and went on my way to go and get all of my free goodies. As I'm getting my free Jack and Coke a few minutes later -- I notice that a 166/1 shot (#2) just won at Mountaineer Park. A 38/1 (#1) longshot was 2nd. Here's the chart: http://www1.drf.com/drfPDFChartRaces...=20121027&RN=9 Here's the video replay of the race ... note that both the 166/1 shot winner and 38/1 shot 2nd place finisher raced on the rail every step of the way. http://www1.drf.com/displayVideo.do?...=D&country=USA I went back and found the bettor I talked to earlier -- he didn't have anything. "I couldn't have bet either one of those two pigs if they were given a ten length head start" |
