Texas Republican Party supports repealing Enlightenment

The other day, the 2012 Texas Republican Party wrote it's platform, coming out against teaching critical reasoning and thinking skills to children

... There’s more: the GOP also opposes the teaching of “critical thinking skills” because they “focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.”

And today the Texas GOP voted in support of repealing the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

Because what we need is less civil rights for Americans! Well, at least for the Americans the Texas Republican Party doesn't like.

“We urge that the Voter [sic] Rights Act of 1965 codified and updated in 1973 be repealed and not reauthorized,” the platform reads
