Default Western Kentucky bridge collapses on ship

Four cars on the bridge, bridge collapsed on ship, nobody killed. We know the ship did not hit the bridge. It was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

This is huge, long major bridge to large recreation area. Decades old bridge, opened in 1932, carries 2800 cars a day, the western entrance to Land Between the Lakes national recreation area.

Can we have that infrastructure repair money now, Speaker Boehner? Or do you still think infrastructure repair in this country is a waste we cannot afford? How many of our bridges have to simply fall down before Congress decides it's worth an investment of our tax dollars to fix them and save our lives? Don't whine to me about 6,000 jobs lost in Keystone, when there are hundreds of thousands lost, plus bridge repairs lost, because you wouldn't approve the funds to fix them.

Maybe we can wait until many more die, like in Minnesota?

Maybe we can get the guns from Mexican drug cartels back so they can strong arm the money out of Hitler...err Boehner.

Here's a novel idea. How about KY building their own bridges. Especially when the bridge is not part of the Fed Hwy System.

Put up an f'n toll and make those who use the f'n bridge pay for it.

$5 X 2800 cars/day X 365 days = just over 5 million /year.

On 2nd thought probably not worth the repairs. Maybe a $50 toll?

There goes Riot, politicizing a tragedy.

If Bonehead had approved the money, the accident wouldn't have happened, because the repairs would have been performed instantly.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – The voyage of a cargo boat that carries space rocket components to Florida's coast for NASA and the Air Force has stalled in a western Kentucky river after it slammed into an aging traffic bridge.

What can be asserted without proof, can be dismissed without proof.

She's about 1/1000 in being correct now.

Do you have proof of that? Did you see it hit the ship?

Riot is correct. The ship did not hit the bridge. The bridge hit the ship.

It was Bush's fault.

Nope. I posted yesterday what they were saying on the news last night - that the ship did not hit the bridge.

I'm glad that they found the bridge did not collapse on it's own, that the ship was in the wrong channel and hit the bridge.

But now I'm interested to see why space rocket components destined for Florida are being sent by boat through Land of the Lakes!

Sometimes you hear what you wish for.

At least Foss Maritime and or their insurance company will be paying for the bridge. Noticed your Gov. already has acted.

It turns out it didn't hit a support but was too tall. 100% negligence on the ship co.
