Default DEDE BILES: F-T Day 2 standouts

Hip No. 80, a colt by Malibu Moon -- Bandstand, by Deputy Minister. Consigned by Warrendale Sales, agent for Spendthrift Farm.
This chestnut yearling's second dam is a grade III winner and other members of his family include grade III winner American Lion (by Tiznow ).

Hip No. 83, a colt by Indian Charlie – Beaucette, by Mr. Prospector. Consigned by Gainesway, agent.
This bay yearling is from a grand Rokeby Stables family that includes grade I winners Sea Hero (who captured the Kentucky Derby, gr. I), Hero’s Honor, and Eastern Echo.

Hip No. 101, a filly by Raven's Pass – Contentious, by Giant's Causeway . Consigned by Denali Stud, agent.
“She’s a big, rangy, leggy filly with a lot of quality,” said Denali’s Craig Bandoroff of this chestnut yearling, which is a member of her sire’s first crop and is from the family of champions Inside Information and her daughter, Smuggler. “She’s been well-received.”

Hip No. 103, a colt by Broken Vow – Copelan’s Angel, by Copelan. Consigned by Gainesway, agent.
This dark bay or brown yearling is a half brother to added-money winner Fly Away Angel (by Skip Away).

Hip No. 104, a colt by Tapit – Cute Cognac, by Hennessy. Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent.
“He is a typical physical Tapit,” said Eaton’s Reiley McDonald of this gray or roan yearling, which is the second foal out of a stakes winner and is from the family of grade I winner Rutherienne. “He has a big, huge walk, a great frame, and a really good mind.”

Hip No. 106, a colt by Street Cry – Dance Swiftly, by Danzig. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent.
“Basically, everybody knows Street Cry is one of the premier sires in the world and this is just a really exceptional colt,” said Taylor Made’s Mark Taylor of this bay yearling, which is a half brother to added-money winners Paiota Falls (by Kris S.) and West Coast Swing (by Gone West). “You can go through a lot of Street Crys or a lot of horses by any stallion and you’re not going to find a horse as good as this one. He walks great and he’s a beautiful mover. He’s got beautiful neck and shoulder on him. He’s got great balance, he has a lot of eye appeal, and he’s from (grade I winner and successful stallion) Smart Strike’s family. He pretty much ticks all the boxes.”

Hip No. 107, a filly by Unbridled's Song – Dancing Shoes, by Danehill. Consigned by Eaton Sales, agent.
“I think she is the most unique physical female offering in the sale,” said Eaton’s Reiley McDonald of this bay yearling, which is a half sister to grade II winner Striking Dancer (by Smart Strike ). “While by an American sire, she is out of a Danehill mare and the Danehill comes out in her, which is what I think makes her so special. Instead of being a big, long Unbridled’s Song, she’s a more compact Danehill type with a huge shoulder, a nice rear end, and incredible balance.”

Hip No. 111, Whippendeal, a colt by Unbridled's Song – Dream Supreme, by Seeking the Gold. Consigned by Lane’s End, agent for Kinsman Farm.
“He’s a really, really nice Unbridled’s Song,” said Lane’s End’s Bill Farish of this gray or roan yearling, which is out of a grade I winner and is a half brother to grade I winner Majestic Warrior (by A.P. Indy ) and two other stakes winners. “He’s got great balance and size; he’s a very ‘racy’ colt. He checks all the boxes.”

Hip No. 114, a colt by Bernardini – Easter Bunnette, by Carson City. Consigned by Mill Ridge Sales, agent.
“He’s obviously very well bred, being a half brother to (grade I winner) Havre de Grace (by Saint Liam),” said Mill Ridge’s Headley Bell of this bay yearling. “He’s very, very agile and athletic. As a gentleman whom I respect said, ‘He moves like a cat.’ He’s just a very, very nice horse.”

Hip 115, a colt by Galileo – Egyptian Queen, by Storm Cat. Consigned by Lane’s End, agent.
“There is probably no hotter sire in the world now than Galileo and this is a lovely colt,” said Lane’s End’s Bill Farish of this bay yearling, whose dam is a half sister to grade II winner A. P. Warrior (by A.P. Indy ) and whose second dam was a champion in Ireland. “He’s got no holes in him and he has great size and balance.”

Hip No. 118, a colt by Raven's Pass – Fairy Princess, by Giant’s Causeway. Consigned by Warrendale Sales, agent for Whitechurch Bloodstock.
“He’s big and good looking, he’s very correct, and he’s got a great walk,” said Warrendale’s Kitty Taylor of this chestnut yearling, which is a member of his sire’s first crop and whose dam is a winning half sister to grade II winner Kumari Continent (by Kris S.) and grade III winner Passion (by Came Home). “He’s kind of a man among boys.”

Hip No. 123, a filly by Sky Mesa – Fun Crowd, by Easy Goer. Consigned by Sweezey & Partners, agent for Willow Oaks Farm.
“She’s really pretty and she’s bred well; the whole package is there,” said Wayne Sweezey of this chestnut yearling, which is a half sister to grade I winner Funny Moon (by Malibu Moon ) and stakes winner Throng (by Silver Deputy). “She’s correct and she’s gotten a lot of play; I think I’ve got the right people on her. For the most part, I think we’re pretty solid with her.”

Hip No. 124, a colt by Candy Ride – Gentlemen’s Crown, by Gentlemen. Consigned by Gainesway, agent.
“He’s a most attractive, correct, athletic colt that is showing tremendously well; he’s very popular at the barn,” said Gainesway director of sales Michael Hernon of this chestnut yearling, whose dam is a half sister to grade IIII winner Chocolate Candy (by Candy Ride ) and Danzing Crown (by Danzig), the granddam of grade I winner Twirling Candy (by Candy Ride ). “He looks the part of a racehorse.”

Hip No. 134, Now and Then, a colt by Tiznow – Holiday Runner, by Meadowlake. Consigned by Lane’s End, agent.
“I love the colt; he has good size,” said Lane’s End’s Bill Farish of this bay yearling, which is out of a stakes winner and is a half brother to grade I winner Seventh Street (by Street Cry). “You have to be so careful with what you bring up here and he’s one that fits. Tiznow didn’t have a bad day yesterday (with his son, Tizway, winning the Whitney Stakes, gr. I, Aug. 6); he’s a very hot sire.”

Hip No. 146, a colt by Indian Charlie – Kokadrie, by Coronado’s Quest. Consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, agent for Cloverleaf Farms.
“He’s obviously got a very good pedigree; his half brother (champion Kodiak Kowboy , by Posse ) won three grade Is in New York,” said Woodford Thoroughbreds general manager Matt Lyons. “From what people tell me, he’s an exceptional Indian Charlie. He’s very correct and has a good walk. He shows himself well.”

Hip No. 152, a colt by Medaglia d'Oro – Lemon Kiss, by Lemon Drop Kid . Consigned by Darby Dan Farm, agent.
“He’s a lovely, lovely colt,” said Darby Dan sales assistant Renee Logan of this dark bay or brown yearling, which is out of a stakes winner and is from the family of champion Black Tie Affair. “He has a beautiful walk and he’s well-conformed. He has a beautiful pedigree. He’s got loads of class and he exudes it.” Added Darby Dan sales director and farm manager Nat Heiple: “He’s very intelligent.”
