I'm on the fence with Hero's and Crooks, Bogey. I don't like the drop and change in surface, especially because he's a full to a recent Peter Pan winner. But, he still has a real good shot in there.

What do you normally do in situations like that? I guess with the main track being synth it sort of forces his hand about what kind of surface to run on, unless he ships, but the drop in for a tag bothers me. Sure, maybe it's where he belongs, but since he owns and bred I figured he might give him another shot before the drop.

Hoss, I definitely understand your concern, but he looks to sit a nice trip right behind Parody and then take over late. Roussel did this with regularity last year if I remember correctly, so don't be discouraged about the drop. I'm expecting him to go off in the 9-5 range. Good luck this afternoon.

The 6th is a really nice little race.

Yeah, Coragil Cat is the play for me, but if Saint Leon can run anything close to his last, it's good night. I was surprised to see Exchanging Kisses entered here after his nice win last month on the lawn. Solid race for a Wednesday afternoon.

Bob, good luck and you can light up your cigar with a magnifying glass today after you take down the PK5 and PK6.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them cancel. There was no one on the big track today after 8am cause it was so hot on it.

This might be a stupid question, but I'll throw it out there anyway.

Does the synthetic tracks hold heat (meaning are they hotter to be on) more than the conventional dirt tracks? I remember the old astro turf football fields and they held the heat making it unbearable on extremely hot days.

I don't know if Oratory's Peter Pan win was anything special.

I am 2-6-7 in that race I think. Jock switch on the 9 is pretty massive also.

It wasn't "special" because of who he beat, but he ran a huge race that day. You're missing my point though. The horse has made one not bad at all start and now he's in for 35 in a grass sprint.

I view that as a negative. He can still win, but I never like seeing that move and was interested in knowing how Bogey and other handicappers look at this.

Roussell likes to scratch alot and he also likes to win, I agree about seeing it as a negative, but as you can see, the race isn't much. Plus, there isn't many 35k claims at Arlington, pretty rare.

I agree Hoss. I thought he wan well first out in a race where the place horse won his next out (at the same level). Then the horse disappears of the grid for over two months and now shows four spaced out works for his second start on the drop. For me there are some definite red flags.

Last 2 races look inviting.

10 DD 2/26
5 DD 26/26

20 WP on the 2 in both races.

Speaking of the jock switch on the 9, why does Graham jump off Hero's and Crooks and jump on Mawaaqef?
