Default Biggest U.S. stallion bargains

Who do you think provides the best ROI relative to stud fee? Considering how many quality NYBs he's thrown, I think Freud at $6,500 is like stealing.

ROI in terms of what? He is a good regional sire but his purse numbers are of course inflated since most of it is earned in restricted company. Outside of Fanny Freud has he ever sired a really good horse?

I'm not talking about throwing superstars, I'm talking about earning the most money on the track relative to stud fee. Seems like Freud has a new NYB stakes favorite every week.

Do you know who he is a half to? Do you think it means anything?

He is clearly the best of the NY stallions. His fee is low because his babies aren't commercially attractive and he has become a strictly breed to run sire. Which isn't a knock. But he is a good NY stallion relative to the usual NY stallion.

Afleet Alex at 15k looks like a decent deal. Of course, I could imagine his fee is going to go up.

Following in Birdstones footsteps. Remember last year when people actually thought Birdstone was a good sire? To be fair AA looks like he has a little more depth to his crop and might be a lot more legit. I would guess his fee will go to 35k. Birdstone may stand for 5k next year.

I agree about the depth, at least AA has had sprint winners, route winners, turf winners, etc. This year's results for Birdstone are absolutely frightening. His 2 best performing horses have of course been Summer Bird and Mine That Bird, you know who's 3rd on the list? Stone Legacy, who has career earnings just over 200k.

His leading earner this year is Birdrun who has made 67k. After 8 months that is unbelievably bad for a 5k stallion. Possible insurance claim bad for a 30k stallion

city zip seems impressive. nowhere near as highly regarded as his brother when he entered stud, but he's outshining ghostzapper-and quite a few others as well.

I really like Northern Afleet and City Zip for the money ($10k). Both are in the top 15 on the general sire list this year, as usual.

Malibu Moon is on the same track Smart Strike was on 5 years ago.
