Default Ah.. Another enlightened leader of the "New South"

SC Lt. Governor's welfare comments draw fire
By SEANNA ADCOX, Associated Press Writer – Mon Jan 25, 10:47 pm ET

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_lt_gov..._help_the_poor

COLUMBIA, S.C. – When things looked their darkest for Gov. Mark Sanford — when he was in danger of being impeached for running off to Argentina to see his mistress — his best insurance policy may well have been South Carolina's lieutenant governor, Andre Bauer. Lawmakers knew if they removed Sanford, they would end up with Bauer, a fiercely ambitious Republican with a reputation for reckless and immature behavior. Now Bauer has folks shaking their heads again, after he likened government assistance to the poor to feeding stray animals.

At a town hall meeting Thursday, Bauer, who is running for governor in his own right now that Sanford is term-limited, said: "My grandmother was not a highly educated woman, but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed! You're facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply. They will reproduce, especially ones that don't think too much further than that."

Ah another example of using one idiots off the cuff remark to knock an entire group. Do we need to start posting John Edwards quotes as an example of the "liberal South"?

I would simply replace stray animals with politicians (Both R,D and I) and would have thought his grandmother to be a wise woman instead of a heartless, rich, biatch.

Didn't Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have something equally as ignorant to say about the NY Jewish community?

I'm not sure stupid comments are exclusive to any political party, ethnic group or ones financial status... Forrest Gump said it best, "Stupid is as stupid does".

Stupid is just stupid and there's plenty of it to go around.

what about the governor? you know the guy that was MIA and in another country. this guy is the reason that sanford is still governor. i remember living down there during my navy days. its about as "fixed" as it gets, makes ny look innocent. the biggest joke is they are so dumb and poor that most of them qualify for the same programs that he belittles ,yet they vote for a guy like this. the interview is hilarious, he got his "wisdom" from his grandmother that he admits was ignorant in the same sentance. and its true because when i lived down there the illiteracy rate in charleston county was the highest in the country! then idiots come here and justify it with "the democrats do the same thing so that makes it all right". thats the problem in a nut shell, half the people on both sides have to go and go quick or we are screwed. they can start with these two crooked jack asses in south carolina...people there can't read, eat right or have half of their teeth...lets compare them to stray animals and we actually pay these morons...oh yeah, great country!
